Nº 02 The long game
Anyone can launch. Lasting is the test.
Globi started the honest way: five years working the world’s oceans, then more years of travel, then a travel agency back home, and a founder who had actually stood in the places the guides describe. The content is written from firsthand experience, which is why it still reads well a decade later.
The technical story is the quiet flex: two full replatformings, Joomla to Drupal and Drupal to WordPress, without losing the site’s organic footprint. URL mapping, redirect chains, structural parity, performance budgets: the unglamorous work that most migrations skip and most sites don’t survive.
Globi is what we mean by longevity. Half the travel blogosphere from 2011 is gone. This one still ranks, still loads fast, still gets read.
Our own grade
Difficulty: 8/10. Not because building it was hard, but because keeping it alive for fifteen years was.
